A charity set up after an Essex man died of leukaemia has helped to raise over £190,000 by selling charity merchandise in the last 12 months.
The sale of charity products has helped to raise almost £200,000 in the past 12 months to generate awareness of leukaemia.
Following the death of 24-year-old Essex man Jamie Saunders last year after a battle with the disease, family and friends came together to form the Jamie Saunders Leukaemia Awareness Group, which sells charity merchandise to fund research into the condition, the Essex Echo reported.
Now, the organisation has revealed that the sale of fundraising products and numerous events held over the last year has seen it raise £190,000.
Russell Paget, 25, one of Jamie's lifelong friends, told the newspaper that the group will continue to sell charity merchandise and organise events in Jamie's memory.
"We will keep raising money for the cause. We will not stop," the fundraiser said.
Meanwhile, stalls selling charity supplies will be a key part of the St Richard's Hospice Christmas Extravaganza, which takes place at Dumbleton Hall Hotel in Worcestershire on November 19th.
